Why wasn't this reported? Hope and Change-Obama Style
So, the Republicans in the House finally found their spine. Not one voted for Obama's "Enslave our Children Stimulus Package". Finally!I'm worried though. It seems that Obama lost his mind a little when he found that it wasn't a unanimous vote in favor of the package. Instead of being worried that he couldn't create a "bipartisan" consensus (and also lost 10 Democrat votes), he decided to throw a party.
According to ABC's Jake Tapper, Obama is throwing one heck of shindig to celebrate the passage of his first major bill through the house. Let's do some quick math.
24 senators and congressmen and their spouses=48
"Several" senior staffers and their spouses (let's guesstimate the number at 20)
Barack and Michelle=2
Total guesstimated guests=60
Let's assume they're only being served 8oz cuts of the waygu steak that's being served (at $100/lb), after all, we don't want to suggest that our politicians could be gluttonous.
8oz x 60=480oz
480/16oz=30 lbs = $3000 just for the beef on the menu.
If you throw in the chicken curry and other foodstuffs, drinks (top shelf vodka has been suggested), staffing (waitstaff, bussing staff, chefs), transportation (it's doubtful all those people carpooled), and accouterments, I would think that you could reasonably expect a party like that to cost no less than $20,000. In the "worst economy in decades" Obama and his insiders think the best way to spend our tax dollars is on a party that we weren't even invited to.
Here's a thought...this is just what they did when it passed through the house. It's not even really law yet. Imagine the party after it gets to Obama's desk and he gets to sign it...

For the record, I hated Bush's package too.
I recently read in the New York Times that the current size of Obama's stimulus package is approximately $825 Billion and the theory is that more payouts are to be added to that.
Here's an interesting little clip from a hearing in the Ways and Means Committee.
You caught that, right? Absolutely no data could be provided in regards to job creation. Not even an educated guess! Then I heard a woman on talk radio say that she's been putting together a list of where the money is going. She's usually pretty accurate and I will assume as much in posting this. Feel free to check it out...let me know if she messed up.

If that's not accurate there's always this.
My favorite was the $150 billion to explore "alternative"energy. How many scientists can one employ for $150 B?
This guy here had some pretty clear thoughts on what we're actually paying for.
I realize I look like I am being a little lazy in just posting what others have said, but acutally that's my point...
You don't have to look very hard to find the facts and see that this is bad policy that is getting rammed through Congress and up our butts. It doesn't take much effort to see that this is neither "change" nor "hope". This is wasteful and shameful pork spending dressed up (with lipstick and everything).
Is anyone outraged yet? Or do we have to wait until our children's children are sold into perpetual debt and bondage?

Judge a man by what Oprah says.
I am happy the day has come when a president of the USA can vote present and decide to not act or not decide to not do anything.
I am happy the day has come Air Force 1 will have spinners on the landing gear.
I am happy the day America has decided that a black man from the southside of Chicago knows what to do with Whitey's money more than Whitey.
I am happy the day when everyone sees Obama fail as president and Katie Couric responds "Well, What did you expect, He's Black."

Love his salt, hate his salty disposition...
...when black will not be asked to get back.
...when brown can stick around.
...when yellow will be mellow.
...when the red-man can get ahead man.
...and when white will embrace what is right."
Did I miss something? When was the last time a black was told to sit in back? When was the last time your Asian neighbor had to spend the summer at an internment camp? And the red-man?...Isn't he the only guy that can open multi-billion dollar casinos (in most places) and sell super cheap cigarettes (the smoke version of nuclear waste), tax free?? Wouldn't that be considered "getting ahead"?
And as for the whitey getting it righty, did white folk to the tune of millions of voters just put a black man in office?
I will grant that minorities all over the world have had a rough time historically, this country being no exception. But for the dear reverend to suggest that America hasn't moved forward, when he is speaking at the inauguration of a black man, is beyond absurd. It's insulting. I will further grant that there were some white Americans that didn't vote for Obama due the color of his skin, which is disgusting. But I will also posit that there were many more Americans (black white, whatever) that ONLY voted for Obama because of the color of his skin, which is equally disgusting.
Most white folk that didn't vote for him did so for the following reasons...
#1) He has ZERO experience. The only thing he has accomplished in his adult life is running for office. Once there, he has a track record of doing little else but waiting for the next elections.
#2) His announced intentions (speaking to our enemies without conditions, raising taxes, spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave) strike most of us as a very dangerous way to run a country.
Most people, I'd like to think, are color-blind in this day and age. Leftists constantly peddle the idea of the innate goodness of man (as in, "We need no higher authority than ourselves.") and yet they are perpetually promoting racial disharmony. It's jarring in disjointedness.
Final thought: Why didn't the dear Rev. mention the Jews? They've been blasted just as badly as the rest of the minorities.

...nor any drop to drink.
I can be cool and be happy for everyone who cares that Obama is black. Have your day in the sun. Jump up, dance, hoot and holler, get drunk or don't. Good for you. Seriously, if it means that much to you that he's black, great! But do you think that tomorrow, when he's still black, and the country that you all have been complaining about for the last 8 years is still going down the crapper...do you think (maybe) we could get past how wonderful Barak H. Obama is and start really looking at what he's actually doing?
At least for a little while...there is an election in 4 years after all...
