The Conservative Quandry

As evidenced by my last post, I am disappointed with McCain and find myself loath to vote for him. But America's alternative is actually worse.

Barack Hussein Obama has become the proverbial fly in the ointment for conservatives everywhere. Most of us would rather vote for some third party, just to drive home a point to the sniveling, whining "moderates" out there. But a vote against McCain is essentially a vote for the racist, anti-American, B. Hussein Obama.

What do we do? Can we hope for a mircle intervention in the form of a medical tragedy? Can we pray for a complete and devistating upset at one of the primaries? Generally, I am one who has an opinion on anything and everything...but this quandry really has me stumped.

I found this video and found it enlightening, succinct, and terrifying...enjoy...

Poor Lonely McCain...

John McCain has been sending me serveral letters appealing to my anti-liberal nature. He gave me a self-addressed, stamped envelope to send him some cash in. I used one of those envelopes to send him this letter.

Dear John,

Like many of those who are tired of the enormous amounts of B.S. coming out of the RNC these days, I regret to inform you that I will not be able or willing to support many of the Republicans running for office this fall. This of course will have to include fiscally supporting the whims of a political party that seems so quick to spit in the face of those who work to support this country and the institutions and traditions that have made this nation the greatest the world has ever seen.

Simply sir, you and your ilk, have let us down.

From taxes, to border security, to the absolute CRAP that is the global warming hoax (and more importantly the crap-n-trade-scheme that you endorse and support), you have consistently and regularly chosen the wrong side of the issue… every time!

You now stand as the head of what used to be a party of conviction, a party of freedom, of personal achievement and individual rights. You stand sir, at the helm of a sinking ship (!) and yet you ask me to support you, one of the individuals responsible for all the holes in the hull?

You signed-off on your letter “I hope to hear from you soon.”, so I will oblige you with this letter and some common-sense demands from those of us desperate for leadership. John, there are so many of us who are terrified at the prospect of an Obama presidency. All you would have to do is take up the banner of freedom, the notion of American exceptionality, and the ringing truth of conservatism and the presidency would be yours!

#1) Drop any and all notions of cap-and-trade in regards to global warming. In fact, announce that your presidency will give no credence to the half-baked pseudo-science that IS global warming. The evidence is there that this is a manufactured crisis. It is something devised to line the pockets of those with interests and to snatch freedom from the masses. Denounce it and I will follow you.

#2) Give the American people your most absolute and solemn vow that ANY illegal immigration amnesty bill that reaches your presidential desk will be immediately and unequivocally vetoed. Convince us that you mean to secure our borders and perpetuate (not dilute) Americanism. This county got to be great by being this country, not Mexico or China or the Netherlands. Support immigration, absolutely. Legal immigration! Denounce illegal immigration and I will follow you.

#3) Forget tax “cuts” and look into HR Bill 25 (aka the FairTax). Announce that you support getting rid of a system of taxation with 67,000 pages! A system that is set up and perpetuated so that politicians can buy their way to electoral victory by choosing “winners” and “losers” through the ever changing tax code! Give us “little guys” back our freedom by getting an obtrusive, overreaching, and suppressive federal, state, and local tax system off our backs. Do this, and I will follow you.

Do these things and I (and many others I suppose) will support you. I will send you cash. I will put a sign on my front lawn. I will canvas door to door for you. Give America something to believe in other than its government, and you will see great things happen. Both for the country, and for your personal fortunes as well I would imagine.

If not, if you choose to remain the status quo candidate of the right, that’s fine. Obama will win and send this country down a dark path. But, America will survive. The intangible that we label “the American spirit” is simply the human soul and as long as humans have souls, the dream that is the American Experiment will never die.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Respectfully Yours,
Douglas
